Chemical analysis laboratory

Accurate analyses to ensure the safety of your activities and people.

Our analysis laboratory is equipped to perform all kinds of analysis and control activities in the environmental field and enables you to obtain the necessary data in order to:

  • Check the environmental impact of your activities
  • Provide the necessary evidence for the purposes of environmental legislation

The data acquired during the analysis provides information which supports decisions aimed at reducing your environmental impact, ensure the safety of your business and workers, and demonstrate your concrete commitment to environmental issues.

The laboratory's activities allow for a wide range of chemical and environmental analyses. The main ones are described below.

Water analysis

Water control processes and requirements can be extremely numerous and varied. Our technicians take care of adequate sampling and select the most correct analysis procedures, in accordance with the client's objectives.

Among the various options, SIGE analyses:

  • Groundwater in the subsoil
  • Waste water (into surface water, sewage or on the ground)
  • Civil or industrial waste water or water for technological use
  • Bathing or swimming pool waters
  • Drinking water for human consumption

At the end of the laboratory analyses, appropriate analytical reports and, if necessary, technical reports are produced, which aim to summarise the situation analysed, any criticalities found and situations of non-compliance with current regulations. A prolonged analysis and monitoring service can be planned in order to control variations in the concentration of the most significant parameters.

Analysis of air and atmospheric emissions

SIGE carries out various checks to ensure that an adequate standard of air quality is guaranteed. The investigations aim to determine the possible presence of gases or pollutants that may reduce or compromise the healthiness of the air.

Among the various human activities that can have a significant impact on air quality are:

  • combustion activities
  • chemical processes
  • machining
  • private or industrial activities that produce waste

SIGE, through appropriate sampling and investigation, defines the impact of these activities on air quality, assessing chemical or biological risks and reporting any non-compliance with current regulations. Regular and periodic monitoring of air quality makes it possible to maintain a safe working environment, protect the community and identify appropriate corrective action in advance.

Soil analysis - soil and subsoil

Analyses can be performed to meet different needs and situations. These include the characterisation of polluted areas or areas undergoing remediation, agrochemical analyses for agricultural soils, and investigations of mud or beach nourishment materials.

Accurate investigations of soil and subsoil make it possible to identify possible contamination factors and determine possible environmental restoration measures.

What we offer

Our laboratory analyses are based on a wide range of environmental parameters of water, soil and air matrices. Specifically, we perform

  • Chemical-physical and instrumental analyses (gas chromatography, liquid chromatography, ICP, AA, UV-vis and FT-IR spectrometry) on:

    • Drinking water1
    • Waste water2
    • Groundwater3
    • Bathing and process water
    • Soil and subsoil4
    • Food, raw materials and finished products
  • Determination of asbestos content in massive samples (FT-IR analysis5 ) and airborne fibres6

  • Air pollution and air quality analysis and control

  • Groundwater monitoring, wastewater treatment plants, landfills

Analyses are conducted following:

  • Official standardised methods (U.S.-EPA, IRSA-CNR, ISO)
  • Internal validated methods capable of satisfying the performance required by industry regulations, in terms of:
    • Reliability
    • Limits of detectability
