Corporate Management Systems

We help you develop management systems for high performance and process optimisation

Corporate Management Systems are organisational models applied on a voluntary basis by the company in order to improve business performance and reduce operational inefficiencies. Thanks to the systemic approach, all sectors of the company are involved and choose to apply shared rules and processes, respecting specific norms or standards.

Environmental Management System (EMS)

Any company or organisation, in carrying out its activities, can produce an impact on the environment. For example, emissions into the air; the production of waste; the consumption of energy or raw materials, are environmental aspects that can respectively produce air pollution; soil contamination; depletion of natural resources.

The environmental efficiency of a company depends on how its environmental processes are planned and managed. Pursuing any improvement in these processes offers benefits such as reduced consumption, reduced environmental impact and the implementation of effective and controlled management methods.

Environmental Management Systems (EMS) are a set of voluntary tools to guide an organisation's interaction with the environment through the definition of plans, processes and practices aimed at improving the organisation's environmental performance. The adoption of an Environmental Management System is voluntary and represents an act of empowerment with respect to environmental issues.

The main normative reference standard for Environmental Management Systems is ISO 14001.

In 2012, ISO stipulated that management system standards should have a common structure, called HLS (High Level Structure), applicable to new ISO standards and future revisions of existing standards. This structure can be traced back to the 'Deming cycle' also known as the PDCA cycle (acronym for Plan-Do-Check-Act) based on focused processes:

  • Plan carefully before acting
  • Carry out the planned actions
  • Check the outcome of the actions
  • Make the process final or improve it

SIGE offers support in defining the environmental management system by developing an analysis of the organisation and its activities, as well as their environmental impact. It identifies any non-compliance with the regulatory framework and carries out internal audits to verify the effectiveness of planned processes. SIGE also supports the company and its staff in the training process to prepare for the EMS certification audit conducted by independent third-party bodies.

Over time, changes may occur in the company that may lead to modifications of procedures previously identified as efficient. SIGE is also able to assist the organisation in the maintenance phase of the EMS, helping to rework procedures to resolve critical issues and ensure compliance with the reference standard.

Quality Management System (QMS)

Over the years, the concept of quality in business has evolved enormously and is now increasingly linked to the idea of efficiency, i.e. the ability to achieve the best performance, reducing costs and wastage of resources. Adopting a Quality Management System (QMS) means adopting a set of rules and procedures aimed at achieving the company's objectives.

ISO 9001 is the main normative reference standard for Quality Management Systems. It too, like the other ISO standards relating to Management Systems is based on the HLS structure and thus on the Deming cycle.

The company's adherence to this regulation is voluntary and offers a number of benefits:

  • Organisational and corporate improvement
  • Improving customer satisfaction
  • Reducing costs, waste and management inefficiencies
  • Improvement of the company's overall credibility, also in the international arena

SIGE offers assistance and support to the company in the analysis of business processes, prepares the documentary aspects (manuals, procedures, operating instructions) and accompanies staff in the training process for preparation for the QMS certification audit conducted by independent third-party bodies.

SIGE is also able to assist the organisation in the maintenance phase of the QMS, contributing to the reworking of procedures to resolve critical issues and ensure compliance with the reference standard, even when significant organisational changes take place.
